Sad News about House

Please visit and like my new facebook page Georgia Home Garden.

I am sad to report that our deal on selling our house completely fell through.  It has been an incredibly stressful and nerve wracking month of November.  We signed the contract on September 19th and we were supposed to close on October 26th.  Everything was fine until the day before the closing, when we were notified that it would take a few more days for the buyers "financing paperwork to go through".

Well one month of being given every excuse and reason why it would happen the next day or week and finally it just didn't work.  Needless to say we are extremely frustrated and disappointed because we have wasted the last two months and have to start over.  It just seems like it is not in our plan to sell this house through a realtor.  Without going into a bunch of details, we are moving on and trying the For Sale By Owner route.

It is unfortunate because I realize that we will probably not get any traffic in the dead of Winter and I will be so consumed with maintaining two houses I will not have time to start building my new garden at our new house.

We are praying that God has something better in store for us and these doors being closed are all for a reason.  I will post updates as they happen.

I am sure He does. I am a person who was in the same boat and God sent the buyers at the perfect time. We were there cleaning the house for the last time and some people just " showed up." I will be praying for you during this time of trusting and waiting on the Lord. Nothing is impossible with God.

Same thing happened to us! But we sold not long after the original contract was over! I would suggest staying with a Realtor as they get more traffic (or in Australia anyway) And know over here you can change real estate agents after a noted time which would have been discussed when you signed them up. But trust in God, pray about it and see where He moves you.

FG - You are right, nothing is imposssible with Him. Thanks for your prayers.

Nathalie - We have already moved on, and are going to try FSBO for at least a few months. If this doesn't pan out we may go back to another realtor. Thanks.

I'm sorry your house sale fell through. The same thing happened to us twice with the same woman when we were selling our AZ property! The third time she came forth with an offer we told the realtor we wouldn't even consider anything more from that person. I was happy we did though, because just as we though we'd never sell we got a much higher offer from someone else.

Thanks Granny, seems like I am not alone in home selling horror stories. I know it will sell eventually, but the waiting is the worst part. Thanks again.

So sorry the deal fell through. It sounds like you had a bad experience with your realtor as well. That is too bad, they are supposed to look our for you interests.

I am so sorry that your house deal fell through. We had that happen to us twice before we ever actually sold the house. I have to tell you I was nervous about the sale all the way up to the day we signed the paperwork. I woke up several nights in a row after the deal, because I could hardly believe it had actually happened.

Rachel - There were just a few things that I knew better about, but in the end I trusted their advice and that decision backfired on me. I wouldn't say they were not looking out for me, just some common things were disregarded probably because the assumption was that it wouldn't matter, but in my case it did.

Cristy - It has only been on the market since July, but now that this has fallen through it seems like what a waste of time. I know if and when we get another deal going I will be on pins and needles too until I sign the papers and even then might have to pinch myself. Hearing that it happened to you and others does help us realize just how common this is, but still it stinks when it happens to you.
